I have a 57 belair - Is there a way to remove the stainless fender trim on the

drivers side without removing fender. There are three bolts that are buried

inside inner fender and behind air duct - trying to do some paint work.

I used a knock out tool to place two holes on the side cowl so I could have access to the two front spear mount nuts should I ever need to adjust, remove or replace the spears. The holes can also be knocked in after the fender is on. I then used rubber plugs in each of the four holes. Replaced the kick panel and voilà, you can't see a thing. I think Chevy just forgot to stamp them out. Don
Hi there. Sorry I took so long to reply. For the nut closest the front cowl I cut out a piece of cardboard 1 5/8"x 3 1/2". Then placed the cardboard against the cowl. The bottom white arrow is placed on the top of the 1st crease. [See pictures.]The top arrow indicates the position for the drill hole. For the nut closest the door the location is 2 5/8" above the widow gutter inner cowl drain seal tube. If you have any questions feel free to email me. Thanks. Don
